The other night, I let my max warm up for about 5 minutes before I drove it. After driving about 35 miles, the heat still wasn't kicking in. The temp gauge did not move at all either. The next day, it worked fine, but this isn't the first time this happened. Could this be a problem with my thermostat?

 

I just bought a 95 Maxima and I had the same problem, I pulled the thermostat and it was stuck open, replaced it and the temp came right up to normal. The thermostat is one piece that is part of the housing but it only cost about $15.00. and it it very easy to change.

 

Thanks for the reply... I also so another post with the same topic. I'm not sure how I missed it, but oh well. I'm gonna change the thermostat tomorrow>
