Tried searching everywhere but couldnt find the answer. I have a 97 Maxima SE with dual power seats. Were all the 97-99 Maxes prewired for heated seats? Also were they pre wired for the switches too?

No and no. I already answered in the other thread.

There are definatly not heating elements in the seats just waiting to be hooked up, if thats what your asking. I ended up tapping my switches into the cigarette lighter because I couldn't find any wires that where supposed to be for the heated seats. If you do get heated seats and switches the install is pretty easy. There are marks on the inside of the center console to show where the heated seat switches go and the correct size.

 

Thanks for the QUICK response. The main concern was the wires already running for us to hoook the new seats to. I guess not. I might purchase these dual power heated seats for my maxima and wanted the install to be as simple as possible. So nissan didnt run the wires for new heated seats then?

 

No they did not. I added leather and heated seats to my car. Was VERY easy to wire myself. I used a volt meter and found 12V + under the center console and ran the power for the switch lights off of that. The power for the heater element was run off of the power for the power seat. I'm more than happy to answer any question that you have. But please try to figure things out yourself as well. I simple search in your car would have led to the conclusion that Nissan did NOT pre-wire all 4th gens for heated seats.

Yes but i was not in a mood to take off the center console AGAIN after that huge center console. A question came to my mind and wanted to see if someone has already did the research so i dont waste time.

No need to get ****y. I answered your question with quite a bit of dteail and even told you how to do it yourself. Sorry that you "weren't in the mood". you probably won't be in the mood to actually do the work then either as removing the center console is all of about 5 minutes work and the wiring is at least 7 1/2 minutes . You may want to get a friend to do it for you.

 

SO what is the point of you telling me stuff? I asked a question and if you think you can start bashing just caz you answered the question then DONT answer! I asked a simple question and its not your problem if i want to check it myself or not. And as I said before THANKS for answering!

 

did you guys buy the switches from nissan or used different ones?

if you guys got the switches from nissan do you remember how much each was?

 

If it was such a hassle for you to offer up your "detailed" information, then you shouldn't have bothered. Obviously the reason he asked was so he didn't have to check in the car. It's a lot easier to ask a question on here than it is to go searching around under the console for a live 12V wire.
