This might sound kind of silly, but do our cars automatically downshift at speeds of 110-115 mph, when a signicant amount of extra pressure is placed on the accelerator. It happened to me this past week. Is my tranny going out or is this normal? I have a tranny cooler sitting in my living room and a VB mod is very near in my future. Thanks for your responses people.

So yes, it will downshift at 115.

 

Cool, i kind of got scared and let off the throttle and slowed up.
I also got worried because it happened without taking the O/D off.
