for those with 97-99 maximas who really want true cornering lamps...

after searching on the web for a way to wire real cornering lamps on my 97 SE i found this:

http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp#pts

click on the link and scroll down to "pulsed to steady output", there is a diagram of how to wire the corning lamps using a relay and a capacitor. Just thought I would post this, I really like this feature and want it on my car, and I'm sure there are others who want it as well, good luck!

WOW

Lots of good info there. Even how to do remote start. Think I'll just buy it though. Little to messy to make it like they show.

Looks great, but does anyone know if the 97+ "cornering" lamps can accommodate a dual-filament bulb? Or would we have to go out and buy a bulb holder?

Just buy the harness plug from the '95-'96 Maximas. They are already made for the dual filament bulbs.

95 - 99 cornering lamps already come with a dual filament socket.. in the 95 - 96 it has a positive lead, in the 97 - 99 the positive lead is not going to anything... all you have to do is soilder the 25 watt postitive lead to a 14 gauge wire and then run that wire to the indicator lights positive lead on the bumper... just tap and splice.. and viola .. you are done

Hi Guys,
I used that exact circuit to put cornering lights on my 97, and I did a pretty detailed write-up for my site. You can check it out here:

http://www.iamsmitty.com/specials/maxima/cornering.asp

I hope this helps, it's really not as complicated as it looks, but I put as much detail as possible in.

Sprint: The positive lead from the indicator is hooked to the flasher unit, so if you hook that to the brighter filament on the cornering lamp, it will flash too. That was my first mistake ;-).
