Looking to go from my stock 215/55HR16 to a wider (not sure exact measurement) 225/50HR16 tire. If any of you have this tire, I'd like your input on any problems (i.e. rubbing inside well, fit on stock rim, etc.) Thanks in advance!!

Re: Forgot, if you have pics....

I have mounted Dunlop SP5000 225/55-16ZRs on the stock 5 star rims. They look good and there are no probs. I have had them on for around 5000 miles now. The fender gap seems a little bit more, but trust me, not that more than before. The car handles much better and is much quiter than the stock Goodyear RSAs.

225/50hr16

I have Dunlop D60 A2 in 225/50HR16. They are okay. I've done about 23,000 miles so far and they have held up good. The only thing i noticed is they aren't as good in the rain as i thought they would be but they are all-season tires. No rubbing or anything on stock '99 SE rims but they are about 1.8% less in circum. in comparason to the stock.
In other words, if you were doing 80 on the highway (by the speedometer) realistically you are only moving at about 78. So, in turn, the amount of miles put on the car will add quicker. If i had known that before I bought them I would have bought 225/55HR16 instead. Something to consider.
I'm going to get that size next to try and compensate for the added milage.

just my $.02...

they fit on the rim, i put some toyo's on my stock 16 inch se rims, they were 225/50/16, the buldge out pretty good, and im not real sure how i liked the handling, so i guess i didnt like it that much.

then i got new rims in 16 x 7.5 and they were perfect. they will work, i guess i just didnt like it that much.

also you will have a wee bit more wheel gap
