my friend and i have a bet, i think that even tho his car is modded, i say my stock 97 se will beat him, maybe not by much, but it would still win..both are 5 spds

 

What do you mean by modded?

If the RS is still NA, I'd bet on you. He's got two less cylinders, and the added driveline mass of 4wd.

 

well he is n/a but just about everything else is not stock...

 

Why don't you just race him? What's the big deal if you lose? It just means you'll be more likely to make your car faster. Oh no!

 

depending on his mods and your driving ability it will be close. i friend of mine has a 98' 2.5 RS that has intake and exhaust and he runs a 15.4, but he is an amazing driver, so if you can pull of good driving skills i would give it to you.

 

I believe that RS has custom cams, thus I give it to the RS unless he cant launch or switch gears good.

 

the 2.5RS will prolly have you at the launch, but you should be able to catch up

 

2.5RS are slow. They can launch hard and that's where it ends. Without a turbo kit or spray, he's got nothing on you but the launch.
