Bent Brake Backing Plate*********************
Bent Brake Backing Plate*********************
Has anyone had to replace these(Brake backing plate)? I have this terrible sound like I have a hammer tied to a tire and when I accelerate hard turning left it sounds like SCHITT! I took it to the Stealership and they told me I have bent the brake backing plates on both sides and it only is a couple of $$$$ for the parts but its an about an hour per side to replace. I am not a techie and don't wish to be so no flaming my ignorace. Your help is appreciated. -K-

You can bend it back by using your hands. Take off the wheel and you will see the backing plate right behind the brake rotor. Grab it by the edge and bend it back.
Is this normal? And does this happen because of normal wear and tear? Or is it the Koni's and sprints. I never had this problem until I lowered it and one of my big homies got in and then I really hear it. If anyone in the So. Cal area (O.C.) wants to make an extra $$$ getting rid of this horrid noise for me, let me know!

I did the same thing myself when installing springs last week.
It's not that big of a deal, just jack the car up, take the tire off, and bend it back.
dude just take your wheel off and bend it back. its *** easy *** that. 1max2nv is right.
i ground control all the way down on agx and mine are fine. the only way i can think that this sould happen is who ever took you wheel off last acidintally droped or hit the plate and bent it. so just bend it back. problem solved.

Install was by Cheston. I think he knew what he was doing. I actually have no tools nor the space to do this and that is why I asked if someone wanted to earn some extra $$$.

Or a driveway/street in front of your house?
You need a jack, a lug wrench, and your hands. They bend like aluminum foil. Jack it up, take off the wheel, bend them back, stop freaking out about something so simple bro. Its easy, really.
