hey,
i saw that 99's have the rear center seatbelt coming from the top, as they are on the side back seats. my 95 has it just as the lap belt and really just lays there ugly in the way. is there anyone who has changed theirs to come from the top or is there a way to do that? just an idea...cuz mine was under the seat forever for some reason and i never noticed till i took my back seat out, and now it just lays there and looks bad. anyways, has anybody looked into this before?

 

I don't like the look of the 'floating' center belt either. Since I can't remember the last time I had 5 people in my car, I just tuck it under the lower seat cushion. I would do that before I'd get into doing a conversion. Seems costly and difficult for a small reward. If it was for the safety of a 5th person, I can maybe see the trouble but if it's just for looks, just do what I do. Good luck.

 

I did the same thing ptatohed, I never have 5 people in the car so it stays under the seat, nice and clean back there.

 

i have 5 people in all the time just an idea. i wonder how different it is and if i could just go to the junkyard and yoink some parts. maybe i'll just have to find someone with a 99 and check it out and see what the difference is and then see if i'm wasting my time. not a big deal, just maybe something i can improve a lil and it'll look better too.

 

I'd love to do this conversion too, let me know what you find out. Meanwhile, I'm gonna give my dealership a call to see if economically and possibly they can do it for my 98max
