CA s*cks

With all the recent postings of turbo maximas,
it s*cks to be in CA, because I failed smog check
today for simply having a hybrid intake pipe
(I even put back the stock box).

How the h*ll do you do it kevin/cheston and everyone else,
with superchargers and turbos...

just venting,
rob

yah

The car's fine. He wouldn't pass it unless he saw
a carb number for that stupid metal tube...

Oddly enough, he didn't say anything about the MEVI.
To boot, I went to this shop a while back with my
modified twin turbo 3rd gen rx7 and he passed it.
Guess time changes things...

I put the old accordian tube back and will be going
back later this week. What a pain...
Hopefully I can find a "good" shop for the next inspection...

feel free to "suggest" via email... 8^)

If your car is registered in most Northern Calif counties, you only have to smog a car when you sell it, not every other year.

So, the correct term would be "Southern" CA. s..ks, not North CA.

done

update: so I go back with the plastic "accordian tube"
in the intake. He passes the car and I'm free for hopefully
2 more years. I'm just happy he didn't asked about the
odd manifold (MEVI) and why my swirl valve is capped off...

ps. I'm in the bay area and that's usually considered northern ca.

Now, back to following all the talk about turbos...

If your car is registered in certain counties in Calif, you only have to smog test when you sell a car, not every other year. Once you own it, you can mod it, but have to fix it to pass if you want to sell it later. Got a relative living in one of those counties?
