Cylinder Misfire?

Hi all!

I checked my "service engine soon" light and the codes were 0607 (Cylinder no. 2 misfire detected) and 0201 (Ignition signal primary circuit fault)

Do I have to my '99 max to a dealership to have it serviced or are these things that others have seen and can be fixed? Thanks in advance for any help or insight provided!

try this:

swap plugs from #2 to #4 and swap the coil from #2 to #6. reset your ecu. if you have a cylinder misfire in #4, you have a bad spark plug, if you have a cylinder misfire in #6, you have a bad coil.

Thanks! I'm gonna try this tonight and hopefully can avoid having to take it into the shop.

With that being said...if I drive like this for a while do I run the risk of causing more damage? I figure it's ok...I have not heard or felt any rough idleing or anything to raise a red flag.

Thanks!!!

you should be ok. i drove my old maxima a few hundred miles with only 5 cylinders. also be aware that it could be countless other things that would trigger a code like that.
