What could cause this HIGH gas mileage?

What could cause this HIGH gas mileage?
I got about 28mpg in my 5sp max this last tank and I did a lot of stop and go driving in the city, in addition to 80mph highway driving for 10-15minute periods. From reading what other people on the forum get, this seems oddly high. Is there anything that could be causing the car to run lean (not enough gasoline)?

Tell us the math used to figure this one out...

It's not rocket science
Divide miles on trip by gallons put in, assuming you reset your trip last time you filled up.
BTW, my CEL IS on. Maybe that has something to do with it LOL! It's getting looked at tomorrow at a dealership and also fixed for free (under lemon-law warranty) Sat. It's too cold here and I don't have a driveway of my own to pull the codes in. Just a school parking lot when I'm not at work.

I mean what figures did you use... ###miles/###gallons...
How many miles do you get on the tank?
How long have you had the car? Maybe the tire size is messing up the mileage?

what's the highest gas mileage u guys have ever gotten? does anyone consistently get above 24 m/g ? I have calculated for the past month... 5 fillups, all have been around 400-415 miles per tank. How much higher can it get?? I'm wondering if i'm due for a maintenance or something. I'm really **** about my mileage.. i wanna get as high as possible. BTW, i do 95% highway driving.

I USED to get upto 450 miles a tank in my car, then, one day my )2 sensor died, not I only get around 25 miles per gallen or so....its so fricken annoying..... I think the highest MPG I ever got was like 31 or so.. who can make it to Florida in 2.5 tank fulls from NY?

i just put on a homemade hai and added about 2 mpg's to my average mileage..it is now 25-27mpg. on freeways i can get as high as 28. i can't wait till i put the y-pipe on..i'm sure to add another 1.5-2.5 mpg's or so!
note: a better fuel burn produces not only more power but more efficient fuel conservation. of course, this is under moderate low-mid rpm rev's and driving load. physics counts!!

I used to peak at 31 highway in the same area with a WAI and a y-pipe. 24-25 city otherwise.

I get 27 mo matter if it is all city/highway or any combo. i put 36 lbs of pressure in all tires, and am a completely stock 95 se 5spd with 137000 miles on it. my driving usually spirited and cruising at nothing less than 80 on the highway. i do however get 33+ mpg when im driving cross country through a snow storm so my speed is at or below 50 mph in 5th, thats makes for insane mileage. I use 10w-40 so i could switch to a lighter oil for a bit more mileage.
ps calculate mileage by resetting the odometer at each fill and dividing it by how much gas is required to fill your tank.
