Squeaking from rear right side of car

Hey guys... lately ive noticed that my car will make a high pitched squeaking noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car. I cannot tell where it is coming from, as I have only driven alone when I have noticed the sound thus far. I started noticing this happening when I got my lowering springs installed and the squeaking isn't constant. It is on and off at random times, but it seems to get worse when the road curves to the left. What could be wrong and how do I fix it? Please let me know, thanks!

Shawn

is it squeaking or squealing? Could be the springs were not installed properly...

I dont know what the difference is between a squeak and a squeal, haha. If it was from the springs, wouldn't the sound only come when I go over a bump where the spring has to compress? Also, if it is coming from my brakes, does that mean that the brake is rubbing on the rotor?

When your pads ware down there is a small metal tab that hits the rotor and makes a screatching sound. Sounds horrable, but it's just a warning to let you know your in need of new brake pads.

This sound only happens when your moving and is not related to bumps.

So we ask, is your squeak bump related or just rolling down the road? Does it go away as soon as you step on your brakes? If it does, then you definately need new rear brake pads.

had the same problem when i got my eibach and tokico. its really ez to fix. just jack up ur car and make sure ur springs are on correctly and most likely it will not be if its squeaking and just pull on the spring with all ur might(of course on a jack stand) and it wont squeak anymore at least dats what i did on my 97max. and like magic no more squeaking. heheh. sounds very unprofessional but it works

I have a similiar problem and i can't figure it out

I have a 1996 GXE, the brakes squeak horribly, it has gotten to the point where i can no longer drive with my windows down because i feel like i'm going insane. The squeak starts slow like: S----S----S----S and then as my speed increases it turns into a solid: SSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I think it may be a warp in the rotor or something of that nature, but when i brought it to pepboys they told me that the brake pads were fine and they said it was just the pads rubbing on the rotor. Why is that happening? If every car with brake pads sounded like mine you would never see anyone with the windows down. I eventually i am going to upgrade to brembo sloted rotors and pads, but for now i am stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Another problem that i think may be tied in with the squeak is that above 50 or so my steering wheel begins to shake. When i hit 95+ you would think i'm driving on pebbles. I had my wheels balanced, about a month ago, i am saving for some rims and wheels in the near future so i don't want to get new tires until them. any (inexpensive) ideas would be helpful.
Thankyou,
Danny

I think they need to resurface your rotors; they cut that with the specialized machine that takes away any lines on rotor.

I may try that but?

How long until you are supposed to get your brake pads changed. This is my first actual car that i own. Before this i just borrowed my moms truck and she took care of the maintenence so i don't really know how that schedule should go. I have had the car since october. and i beleive that they put on new pads when it was serviced by the dealership where i bought it.
Thanks,
Danny
