Changing tranny filter screen on 95 SE
Changing tranny filter screen on 95 SE
Hey everyone,
I've been contiplating on changing my transmission fluid. I see the 95 has a filter screen and the Chiltons recommends changing it. It doesn't sound to difficult to do. There's 11 bolts and 1 nut. I've been searching thru the threads and haven't seen anything about doing this being difficult with the exception of one thread. Someone said that for the nut, it comes loose. In order to tighten it you have to drop the valve body. Have alot of you experienced this, or is this just an uncommon occurence.
Thanks for any info in advanced.

It's very simple to just clean it, or it may actually be pretty clean. It's just a fine mesh screen. You can wipe it off with a lint free rag or spray some intake cleaner on it.
When I dropped the pan on my 99 with 50K on it, the only thing that was dirty were the magnets. The screen looked like new.
