in my earlier post someone said 2nd can hit 68 before redline...im just curious if this is try, i usually dont take her to more than 50 on 2nd (usually only like 35ish)
also, what speed can you hit before redlining other gears?
thanks

1) Redline is actually 6550 rpm
2) Your speedometer is probably about 2 mph fast at those speeds.
3) Actual speed at redline in 2nd is probably about 65-66 (see #2)
4) The optimal shift point is actually about 62-63, so going above that is pointless.
5) 4th Gen's have no top-end, so taking it up to redline beyond 1st gear is pointless (see #4)

i'm not sure about everyone else but with my 4th generation 95 SE, the relationship between gears and rpm is pretty linear, below is the exact rpm, gear and speed, take note that after 150, the speed is theoretical.
---------GEAR
RPM------1st-----2nd------3rd-----4th-------5th
1000-----5mph----10mph----15mph---20mph-----25mph
2000-----10mph---20mph----30mph---40mph-----50mph
3000-----15mph---30mph----45mph---60mph-----75mph
4000-----20mph---40mph----60mph---80mph-----100mph
5000-----25mph---50mph----75mph---100mph----125mph
6000-----30mph---60mph----90mph---120mph----150mph
6500----32.5mph--65mph---97.5mph--130mph----162.5mph
(redline)
just thought it might help..
---------GEAR

i know 4th is good for 120 and some change...and it still had plenty left should one wish to continue....all I had was a wsp y-pipe & cat.
i think 3rd ran out just shy of 100....so the chart seems about right.
i'm not enough of a holigan anymore to have flirted with 5th....and since i did this illegal jaunt, i switched to a auto....or should I say I switched my wife to an auto....doh!
tach's and speedo's are not all that accurate in general...3-5% minimum error can be expected.
now don't get caught doing anything...HAHA...just play safe
