Cut-a-Coil questions

Down falls ?
Thoughts ?
I understand many have done this. Search function is down right know.

The main draw back is if you make a slight error on the even cut on both springs, the car will not sit level.

Its a good inexpensive way to get the drop your after.

In no way shape or form would I (or almost any other member) suggest cutting stock coils to get a drop, they are way to soft.

Yes

To cut a dead coil off a spring to get an even drop is ok, but to cut stock coil springs to get a drop is a big NO NO...your just asking for trouble

That's exactly right. If you want a little lower, go with lower springs or coilovers. I have the lowest springs and I don't want the hassle of coilovers so I cut a coil. As matty said, it is 100% fine as long as you are cutting a dead coil, but NEVER cut an active coil. And make sure you cut them even too like Brigboy said, or might have some problems.
