question regarding foglight wattage

Hey everyone. I am asking this one behalf of my brother's 97 max. He went to replace his OEM foglights with regular Hella foglight bulbs. He put in H3 100W bulbs. He asked if that is a problem? If I remember right, stock we take 55w. I told him he might have premature bulb failure, overheated wire harnesses, etc. Am I being a little too cautious, or will the 100w bulb really cause problems if used a lot?

Premature bulb failure.

The fog light is to small of a space to handle the heat 100 Watts will produce. You'll be lucky to get one or two months from the bulbs.
