Jumpy Brakes?

I've had a persistent problem with my 98 I30 and jumpy brakes. When i brake (especially hard braking) it feels like it's jumpy. Rather than a smooth stop it jerks along to a stop. Kinda hard to explain but its like I were to press the brake and release it VERY quickly over and over. I've taken it to a shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with the brakes but there's obviously a problem.

Anyone have any ideas or had the same problem?

Do you have ABS?

Maybe the ABS isn't working properly...maybe its working when it shouldn't be? Any ABS lights or anything on?

It's not your ABS, It's your brake pads and rotors heated after the hard braking, plus it's also your brake fluid temp at boiling point that's why when your finished braking hard it still does it at 5-10 MPH and if you want to change this, you will have to do alot or just live with it...

1)Change or resurface rotors.
2)Get new and make sure they are either raybestos or porterfield brake pads.also good things have been heard from Axxis matrix these are the best...
3)Do a complete brake fluid flush out and put in ATE Super Blue Racing or ATE TYP 200 brake fluid.

This will make it stop but you will still experience it from very high speeds comming to a stop but it will be much mch less than what you are experiencing now...

You might need to resurface your rotors. that could somethimes cause to be jumpy.

You have an uneven surface on your brake rotors. Have them resurfaced and your brakes will be smooth as silk.

Until it happens again....

Nissan rotors are notorious for this. Your almost better off buying replacement after market rotors for the car. Especially if your mileage is getting up there.
