Look at your spark plugs the cleanest one could possibly be your leanest.

Very possible. If your mixture is to lean or to rich, you could misfire. Take those plugs out and look for ones that don't look like the others.

Couple of causes that I know of. Failing, or clogged injector(dirty gas), an 02 sensor with bad readings could cause a bank to run richer or leaner, timing(I don't think this is your case.) There are probally others too.

I would look at the injectors and the heated 02 sensors. What did the spark plugs look like? Were any of them kinda white?

Was your engine recently flooded?

My engine was flooded, and about 15 minutes after it started, I got
the same error (well, it was for the right bank)...BUT, keep in mind
that I already know that I have wiring issues, so, my problem may have
been a result of that, and not the flooding...

I would check your O2 sensor. Mine was throwing that code when my sensor died slowly.

thanks again guys..
i'm not exactly certain about what you meant by flooding, floboy- but as far as i know, i dont think thats a problem.

as far as the o2 sensor goes, will it throw a code for the sensor when it becomes time?
how can i check on that sensor now?

i also got a cylinder misfire code. it might also be the gap on the spark plug, our maxes are supposed to be gapped to .041 in. or at least that's what autozone guy says.

I used information I got from a service manual from the library. Not an FSM but I'm sure it's in there too. Your testing my memory and I don't recall the exact procedure. I can update when I get home if you like. The O2 sensor gives an oscillating voltage feedback to the ECU. Technically you should use an oscilloscope, but I found a good multimeter works as well. I don't remember the range it's suppose to be in, but by backprobing the sensors connector while running you can determine a range the sensor is working in. I believe mine was too low and sending messages to the ECU the bank was lean. It was then dumping in loads of fuel and still reading lean. I replaced the sensor and all is good now. Took me 10 minutes to replace the sensor and 20 to run the new sensor wire in the proper locations. It's an easy procedure to check just in case that is the problem

sil SE, you REALLY need to get a Nissan FSM and start trouble shooting your own stuff. It's one thing to ask for advice but another when you don't know what to do with the advice that people offer.

Plus it's a good reference for brake stuff etc... as well as giving the proper fluid types/levels etc...

your status is "needs non-maxima friends", I would assume you would be just a little more maxima savy than this
