Headlight question

The oem bulb has three wires: green, yellow, and black.
Which one is low and which one is high?
If I was to use them for a HID bulb, I would use which one?
thanks.

I don't know. I suggest that you get one of those electricla probe testers (the ones with the sharp piont, and a light) and poke each of the wires.

If you know anything about wiring schematics, then you should get a Haynes manual. They have the complete schematic for the whole car in the back. If you don't, and don't mind waiting a little while, I'll go by the house and look for you.

You can't use any of them with an HID bulb.

You have to buy an HID Conversion kit. They usually come with the adaptors to plug into your cars socket. Our cars electrical system will not power up an HID bulb on it's own.

OK Here ya go.

On all 1995-1999 Maxima, the headlight and fog light lighting is as follows.

Fogs: orange with black stripe is hot, black is ground

Headlights (right): Low beam - Blue with black Stripe, High beam - Light green with black stripe, Ground - blk

Headlights (left): Low beam - Green with Yellow stripe, High beams - yellow, Ground - blk

Hope this helps. Any other questions just ask. I got the diagram right here.

Agreed, the HID you buy should come with a little adapter of some sort, where you can plug the 9004 harness into the HID harness, and form there it is connected to the HID bulb, at least thats how mine were. I had to do trial and error with the wires since HIDs do not have high beam, luckily my first choice was the right choice. HIDs should come with their own little harness adapter of some sort.
