MEVI Owners: Do you use a RELAY or NO?
Just like the title says. Just curious.
I'm converting to no-relay use on tuesday, along with doing a bunch of other spring cleaning/maintenance on my car.

Hell no. The relay was the cause of all my inconsistent changeover problems with the MEVI. It's NEVER flaked out since yanking the relay. I've been running it this way since October.

I dont know where are you guys getting the power from to the relay. I had my power source from the cigarette lighter wire. That didnt work too well. I also had the same freaking problem on Dyno day my brother the curious 14 yr old kid he is started trouble shooting the relay. Apparently the relay was not getting power at all. He undid everything tested it out again by moving on the wire and bam the light came on on the that screwdriver that has a light in it. He then grabbed a wire with a fuse in it, and I am now getting direct power from the battery using a 30AMP fuse and have had no problems since. My opinion is you guys are not getting constant electricity going thru that relay which is not opening the vacuum switch.

Ill also pay more attention to see if that RPM switch is working, the only problem is I rarely take my car to 5K to see if its opening unless I am in a rush or racing someone.
