When I'm launching, I don't dump the clutch at all. I slip the clutch (hard to do with an ACT) until hookup, then slowly floor it. When I was stock, I just floored it after hookup, but now that I have a few mods, this causes wheelspin.

do'nt dump the clutch.
go to about 1.5k and slip it...once you get traction and are off the clutch...slowly floor the pedal.
dumping the clutch will make it almost stall...then when you push the gas hard, it will bog down.

when i had my acura legend 87 i use to do some racing. and i use release it around 4000 rpm and play with the wheel until it locked up to the road. and change to second, after that it was going. but i dont know about maxima, thats how it was with that car. right now i have automatic. and when i press on the gas it chrips. but no smoke. but it moves. thats good enough.

First of all wtf do you guys mean by slipping the clutch? I have had perfect launches before, when i get a good feeling for the clutch, by revving and feathering it with power from 1.5k RPM..... Is that what you mean by slipping it?

well if you are at the track when you are racing you can generally get alot better traction. I dump my clutch at 3k at the track and hook up great. If I do this on the street I just spin like hell. I also have an ACT clutch.

why would you turn LSD off?
and how do you get so much wheel spin in an auto with a ~6hp intake?

my car feels different from time to time. I guess its cause of the weather or how hot the engine is but i normally let it out between high 1's to 2. I never launch past 2.2 because even that causes heavy wheel spinning. But it feels good to feel your neck jerk back

He's got Bald Eagles on the front and Maypops on the rear. And are we talking about the O/D off button? Where did anyone get the idea that has anything to do with limited slip?

for some reason he thinks his car has LSD..

1) US Maxima's don't have LSD
2) you can't turn off the LSD
3) i told him to check his tranny VIN.. nothing yet

Didn't all Maxima SE models (US as well) have VLSD?

I know the Canadian SE has VLSD... dunno about the other trims.

I usually dump it at 2k, and it grips on point, not too much wheelspin and chrips at 2nd, slightly in 3rd. Going to track next month after i get rims, springs, and struts.

Are you still slipping your clutch, now that you have the trubo? Or did you slip your clutch at 4k with all the bolt on mods? I have the ACT street modified clutch, and cant slip that ****. Any tips, or suggestions?

Thanks

I'm sure Sprint's gonna call you a rookie for this one

You can slip it, it just takes a sensitive foot. You also have to be familiar with the specific clutch in question, as the ACT's are auto-adjusting (read: the catch point will differ greatly over time)

rev up engine in first with clutch applied ... release them together slowly and make her humm...scoot out !! ha ha ! you know if your rpms are way to high if they spin...if so try it again until it works for you. im no pro, but everyone can get used to their own car... you will be able to hear what to do if you do it enough, if that makes any since. another thing to look for is that you will find yourself shifting into second much sooner if your doing it right. again im not a pro ...

You took your stock motor mounts (there's 3 if I am not mistaken... but I could be wrong) out and had them poly filled?

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy aftermarket motor mounts (if any exist)?

i had sx7r do them.. check the FAQ.. Ericdwong explains how to do it..

it costed me $60 less than aftermarket mounts... also aftermarket mounts are shakey at low idle... i only did the front and back mounts... however the car has 4 total mounts.. 1 front.. 1 rear.. 1 on the engine on the pass side.. and the 1 on the drivers side bolted to the tranny...

the rear one is the one that usually gets real bad..

If you go to T2CTeamShift's homepage, you'll find out what CystumMax is talking about.
