I got a question for everyone here. I have not bought my maxima yet but I have friend with Acura Legend L. He has a weapon r intake and a flowmaster muffler. He says he can beat a stock 96 se 5spd. I said he does not have a chance. New his car I think was 0-60 in like 7.5. Its a 1992 model.
I'm tired of arguing with him. So I putting up this post up, he will be reading it too so please respond to this one.

I had a friend in school that had a 5spd just like you described. My AUTO 95SE walked right by him. I know he knows how to shift too; he races the car quite a bit at tje track. His car has an Intake and an Exhaust with oversized piping.

My car? CAI, and Stillen exhaust...AUTO tranny From 0-60 I had him by about 3/4 of a car. From 6--120 I had him by 2 cars!

Good luck...your's is 5spd, so I am sure you can beat him if my auto beat it!

Just as shumax said it should be a walk in the park. I've taken one down too with my auto tranny.

 

I raped a 1993 Legend with an exhaust. He even had a jump on me. I walked him down, yes, even with my heavy a*s chrome rims. :P

 

you will definetly cake walk him. your max will beat him anyday. Especially 5 spd.

I beat an auto Legend(maybe a 1990 or so) 2 dr auto on I 29 going into SD. He as tailing some folks pretty bad so I decided to play.... Lets just say my 5 speed had its way with him. Especially over 100. He learned after 8 or so accelerations from 80 - 120 that he was not gonna be able to pass me... He had an aftermarket exhaust and my max was 100" stock with a K&N drop in filter.

 

I walked by 1 too, it was an auto though, so is mine, hope that helps!

 

If you really want to know which is faster just rent a maxima and race him.. My stock maxima ate the Legend up for lunch!!.. And he had a 5spd acura. So most def you'll beat him hands down.. Get the Maxima instead you'll be happier.

 

Not trying to be a Di$k but I am shocked your 'friend' has gotten on here to defend himself or had his Honda guys come over here to stir the pot...

I can tell ya...I think that the 89' Legend was quicker than the 92's. I know a guy who has one and he can stay with me up to 50 and then at 60 I pull a bit. By 100 I have a car on him if I am lucky.

Thing is that the car only has 160 hp but the gearing is better and they are MUCH lighter. They are more like a 2door accord with a V6 and a 5spd.
