Knock sensor?

Hi guy, I have a quick question. My sisters boyfriend just replaced his knock sensor on his 96 Maxima and he wants to know if he needs to reset anything, and by anything i'm guessing he means the ECU. Thanks.

Yes he should reset the ECU so that it adjusts to the new sensor.

Have him disconnect the negative battery terminal as well to erase the code.

Disconnecting the battery will not erase the code.
