should i heat or cut my rear sprint springs

should i heat or cut my rear sprint springs

to try and level out the rear. and if i heat ive got one of those mini butane blowtorch/heatgun/souldering iron, would this work. and do i need to heat the whole spring, or just a part of it.

Just cut um off. I cut 2 coils off of my sprints and it looks perfect, If my father hadn't taken the digital camera to Japan yesterday i could have gotten you some pics...but i dont sorry. Brian

i would also cut them, heating springs is a no no

...and cutting springs ain't exactly safe, either - not to mention that you automatically void any warranty that came with the spings.

Tru but if your worried about the warranty on your springs then i wouldnt bother doing either. I mean the springs arent that expensive so i didn't care any ways. Then again you can't put sprints on KYB'S cause any drop 2" or lower voids there warranty. I'd cut um tho, i dont know to much about heating coils to shrink them i'd just cut um. Brian

I would sell the springs and get either air suspension or ground control coilovers. Cutting and heating is not good for the car at all. You will get alot of problems later on.

me thinks that heat would be bad & potentially dangerous since it may alter properties of the spring...

Here is your answer!! not da mmm opinions/facts

Cut one coil off that is all you will need to even out the car. If you have "KONI adjustables" you may need to cut two coils off. But for now just cut one coil off. Your car should sit like this when yoru done
