Big Trouble Starting up Please Help !!!!!!!!!!

Big Trouble Starting up Please Help !!!!!!!!!!

I recently have big trouble starting up i would have to crank like 10 times before my car starts i just recently replaced a Nissan factory starter spark plugs and fuel filter there is a really weird noise during the start up like it is scratching on something i was thinking could it be an loose Timing chain tensioner or an bad one the car runs fine when it is started up it seem to be alittle better when it is warmer outside don't have to crank as much also i am getting bad gas mileage 15-18 MPG these problem seem to get worst and worst everyday it is a pain in the *** having to crank 10 times just to start up the car any help would be greatly Appreciated THANKS !!!!!!!!

One thing to check would be the coolant temp sensor. This could affect startup if the ECU thought the car was already warm when it is actually cold.

Did you turn your key to on and let it sit for a few sec before you start?It might help,but definitely sound like a coolant temp sensor.

Clean your throttle body. See - www.motorvate.ca for the how to.
The Coolant Temp Sensor is probably your problem, definately replace that.

That statement tells me you may have a defective starter. Does it only make that noise when it's cold or does it sound like that all the time? You may want to have Nissan listen to that and see about giving you a warranty replacement for the one you just purchased.

Yes i let it sit there for a few Sec before i start up the car but it doesn't seem to help i even have trouble starting up when the car is warm
