edit: Oh also, if i had an aftermarket alarm, would I not see the brand name somewhere in my engine bay? if they removed it before they traded the car in or something, the red light would no longer work, and it does. ??
I have a button that looks exactly like that that is part of my DEI sidewinder 6500 car alarm... but the actual button is black... its so incase your alarm remote stops working you can press a code and it will disable the alarm.. the red light looks the same to... but i had mine on the other side of the steering wheel..

The button is probably the valet button for your aftermarket alarm. Do you have a siren inside the hood? The stock alarm uses the horn so you won't see a siren. Do yo use a nissan remote on the car? Boost sensor is normal. The red light next to dimmer is probably part of the alarm too.

for example press it 3 times pause press 5 more times pause then 2 times and it will disable. (dont worry thats not my code hehehe)
as for not seeing anything.. does your car have an alarm at all.. meaning do you have a remot for your car.. and does the red light blink when the car is off or all the time?
reason i ask is there are silly people out there that install lights and buttons to make people thing ther eis an alarm on it...(I know.. but i had to ask!)

there is a siren thing on my firewall near the strut bolts. I am not sure if that is the horn or and alarm siren.. i am calling DEI to see if they can tell me how to determine if i have one of there alarms.

I looked in my trunk to see if I had OEM keyless, and there is nothing in there. so i am confused. I read that you have to have something in there that shows you have it.

You have an aftermarket alarm. The horn doesn't look like the siren. You probably woul have no idea what the horn looks like. They are these disc like things. All that stuff is part of an aftermarket alarm. Do you use a remote to unlock the doors? Does your car make a sound when you arm the alarm?

Ya that button next to your steering wheel looks a lot like my Clifford light, just an indicator that your alarm is on (like the stock one on the opposite side)...At least, that's what I think it is, kinda hard to tell.
Boost controller, maybe you're turbo'd and don't know it.
Gotta go check my engine too, see if I'm boosted!!!

Everyone has a boost sensor. It's some type of vaccum sensor. No need to check your car. It's there. We all have it.

here is my deal...
this guy from a security store said he would look to see if i have after market alarm, but I dont have the original Keyless entry remote or the thing in the trunk that I am suppose to have that allows me keyless etc although i do have the oem security light. ??
but i ordered a remote a while back from ebay, and tried to program it per intructions, and all the intructions i found say to do the same thing, get in car, manually lock doors, insert key 6-10 times within 10 second, hazards flash, hold down lock button, manually unlock door, get out, shut down, and push lock button. although my hazards dont flash.. lol so i dont even know if i have to OEM stuff.
I am going to try and see if i can tell what after market alarm i got. where do you think I could find the main peice of the alarm that would have the brand name or something on it?

It functions as a MAP sensor. (Manifold Absolute Pressure)

Check out this pic of my upper intake, notice anything else that I don't have compared to you?
I know exactly what you're missing. But my haynes manual uses an early 95 like your car and doesn't have it either. I don't know the name of it. It's that cone shaped thing with the hose at the end. That's the technical term for it, really. :P

you found the nam only on that little black box. that is the alarm relay and it may just have the manufacture of that part.
even generic alarms are displayed someware on the net. i would keep researching... pull the peice off the firewall and look for a name on that and follow all the wires...
or do the next best thing... pull the whole thing out and put in a new one were you know were it came from hehehehe
