Chevron Delo 400 Motor Oil?
Hello,
I just bought a 96 SE with about 159,000 miles on it. I'm about to have the oil changed for the first time and my "mechanic" recommends that I switch to Delo 400 Oil by Chevron.
The weight of this oil is 15W-40. He said that the oil that’s in the car right now is too thin for the car having so many miles. He says that he uses it in all of his cars and it works great.
Does anyone know if this is a good idea? Will this oil be too thick, and can that cause any problems? Also, would I need to do a motor flush or anything before changing?
I found this page with information about the oil:
http://library.cbest.chevron.com/lub...ghlight=0,delo
I'd also like to know the best oil filter to buy.
Sorry if this has been discussed before, I'm new here and the search feature is down.
Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Best filter
I can't help you with the motor oil question, but the best filter to get is Nissan OEM. They cost a little under $5. CourtesyParts.com has them for that price, not sure what a local shop would be, but I can't imagine it being different.

You should need no more than a 10w30.
