2 Brake questions:

How much brake fluid do I need to bleed the entier NON-ABS brake system?

and If I buy new pads for the front, do I need to buy new shims at the dealer or will then be included in the set with the rotors?

I think I used a little less than a pint to bleed the system... Be sure to suck out the reservoir first down to as low as you can (I used a turkey baster - shhh... no one knows why the turkey tasted "funny" this year... - kidding - brake fluid is toxic!). After getting the fluid out I added the new fluid to the top and then started bleeding from the farthest bleeder to the closest (passenger side rear, driver's side rear, passenger side front and finally driver's side front.) If you don't suck out that old fluid from the reservoir you don't know for sure that what you flush out of the lines isn't already contaminated with water. On the rear wheels I bleed out about 1/8 pint each (longer lines) and considerably less on the front lines.

Shims should be included with the pads, not the rotors.

Its an easy job that most places charge way too much for.

Good luck,

Jim
