EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NOIZE..annoying

In idle whether at red light or in park makes this annoying "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" continious sound. I can hear it from a block away. It coming from the engine bay. WTF??? Can belts noticeably cracked belts make the car sound like that or is ot more complicated...

either your belts are loose or the alternator is going.

Try retensioning before changing the belts unless they are visibly worn. Adjusting the tension should correct the problem.

a quick way to figure out what your problem could be is to use something like wd40... or any spray oil... and just lightly oil anything that you think could be squealing. so just run your engine and while you're under the hood, just spray a belt... then a pulley...ect... until the sound goes away. then take appropriate action to fix it. good luck.

this would happen on my old car (Diamante) and i could NEVER figure it out until i took it for an oil change and the guy said he filled up the steering fluid. Since then the noise disappeard. just a hint.

I have this same annoying whistling noise as well. More when its at operating temperature. Only at idle in gear, park, coasting in drive, when ever.
I cannot seem to pinpoint where its coming from either. Its driving me nuts!
I know its not the belts because I changed then to no avail.......

Someone else had to have this noise and got it fixed......

By looking at the replies seems to be 95-96 model specific....
