I believe that most of the spoilers on the 4th geners are held on with four bolts, two on each of the center pedastools and the outer pedastools are held on with 3M tape (if it was a dealer option install). If it was factory installed, I believe the outer pedastools are held on with some type of bracket. To access the bolts, just remove the cover panel under the trunk lid. Loosen and see if the spoiler comes off.

I was thinking about removing the spoiler on my 99 today, I wanna see how it looks with out it, just eyeballing it and imagining it without the spoiler it looks pretty good in my head. Would only be temp till i got a type 2 wing west spoiler, but still.

from what i can tell, yes it does, the oem spoiler bolts on at 2 places, the ends and the "pillars" next to them, i think the type 2 bolts to the edge ones.

My spoiler got ripped da f*ck off. IMO it looks alright without it. Although those four wholes make it look like ****.
