should i trade my 17's for 18's?

I was at my local Nissan dealership last night, i wanted to show my girl a maxima i saw there last week in the service dept.(I used to be a salesman there so i know everybody.) The car i saw in service was now for sale on the used car lot. It was a black 98 SE with custom maxima.com sticker, 18" giovani wheels, stillen intake and exhaust, lowered, red/clears and a chrome grill, first of all does anyone in Jersey know this car? its at ramsey Nissan, 75,000 miles and there askin $10,900. I went and had a chat with the used car manager who is a friend of mine and asked him if he would swap the 18" wheels for my 17" epics. he said $500 plus my wheels, i think i could get him down to $300. Will I have to lower my car for these wheels to fit? is this a good deal?
