i know, i know... pull the codes from the ecu. but a friend of mine had the same problem with his 99 se-l maxima and he cant get rid of his light. so i figure there is no sense to check it if i already know what the codes are.

i was just curious if this has happened to anyone else out there. any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

that happened to me too...chances are its one of those sensors that attach to to the intake...they might not be plugged in good or tightened. I can't remember exactly which sensor it was but it was one of those around the intake that got looosened.

hope this helps.

I had this problem as well, its the intake temp sensor code if I'm not mistaken. The little sensor should be plugged into the bottom of the snorkel piece that is at the front of the engine bay. What you need to do is take it out of the bottom of that piece and plug it into where it is supposed to be and then ziptie the sensor somewhere near the filter. I did this and my light went away after resetting the ECU once again.

Well I have a 97 and it worked. Where did you hear only for the 95-96? Why would that matter?
