After I put in the new bulbs, the blinkers started blinking twice as fast. Anyone know why or how to fix it?? I tryed putting the original bulbs back in, and the blinkers returned to the original speed. Why would a bulb cause this to happen? Any info would be appreciated...

check all your flashing bulbs... I heard that if one is bad then they all blink fast to let you know. You can buy an aftermarket adapter where you can set the speed they flash if you want to induce it. Hey black97, do you have any pics to show? (of the clears w/ red bulb showing?

That's a really nice set up with the gauges...Did they have to build a custom dash, or fill in the existing one? How much did that cost for the whole thing (if you don't mind me asking)? Thanks.

No Pictures yet

I don't have a picture of the clear tailight with the red bulb, but I just got a digital camera, so as soon as I figure out how to use it, I'll post one. The red bulbs are a Chinese brand, (the label was in chinese), but they are a real deep red, and I really like how they look.

That Chinese brand you might be talkin about I think are the Polarg brand bulbs. At one time I had hyper whites, but now I have Polarg red signal bulbs in my clear tails and it looks a lot nicer than having them amber. I also made it alternate with a Polarg Hyper White 194 bulb next to it when I signal.

that sounds cool, how did you rig that conversion to alternate? and did you have to use a higer watt fuse after you did it?

I hate to ask because I don't want to jinx you but how long will it be until you get pulled over for having flashing red lights in your personal car? I understand the very pale blue ones, but a deep red is asking for it.

I just rewired the rear blinkers to the park lights just like the front blinkers and sidemarkers. I kept the same fuse and it has worked fine for the past 6 months.

As far as I know rear turn signals have to be either red or amber. I don't know why you think I would get pulled over with red turn singals. A lot of new cars come with red blinkers from the factory.

Exactly, as long as the blinker is not hyper white, its not illegal.

the bulbs cost $11 each, and they are made by APC (american products company). I found that it was pretty hard to find a quality brand 1156 red bulb. I got these from a hot rod shop in my area

I heard the APC red bulbs look okay, not pink or a light red like other brands, but I wouldn't rely on getting APC hyper whites, they look a greenish white. I have always relied on Polarg bulbs. I think the red 1156's cost about $5 - $10 each depending where you go.
