Should I get a VI?

Your car will run fine with a 96 JWT modified 5-speed ECU. You will get a CEL from the rear o2 sensor. It will just be a little annoying having to see the little red light all the time, but it will not hurt performance. The rear o2 sensor does not relay info to adjust air/fuel ratio's, it just monitors the cat.

I am in the Chicago western suburbs if you would like to take a ride in my VI/JWT-ECU 5-speed I30. I would most likely let you drive it as well (being that you don't seem like an idiot)

thanks man. One of those days that i'm not too busy and your free, i'd like to take u up on that. Always wanted an ecu upgrade.. along with the mevi.
