I'm getting ready to service my 96 GLE and I was curious what to do and what to not do. I bought the car with 80K from a used car dealer so I don't know what has been done in the past. The car now has 86K. I'm planning on doing the following below. Do you think I should do these things? Another question I have is it important to use the Nissan recommended NGK plugs? They cost $10 each, I can save a lot by using regular platinum plugs. Will this have any effect on engine performance/reliabilty?

Spark Plugs
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
PCV valve replacement
Collant change
Auto Trans Filter change
Belts

All that stuff on the list loox good. You should maybe check the PVC vavle b4 replacing it...may not b necassary. The NGK's r the best and I recommend getting them. The tranny should be flushed. There is not much to b done about the filter though. Just flushing it should be fine....Also clean out the throttle body with some throttle body cleaner from auto zone, pep boys, etc..Check your cv joint boots(front axles) cuz mine had ~ the same milage and my cv joints were going bad (i.e. popping on turns)......hope that helps.
