Ressetting computer when you add perfromance parts??

Do you have to reset your computer when you add a cold air intake and the like?

I thought i read that or somthing....

it is a good idea..................
I did it when I installed my Ractive Superflow Cone Intake Filter I disconnected the battery for about 2 hours so the computer could "reset" itself...
