How do you like your MEVI for daily driving?
I've seen all these conversations about the 1/4 mile times with the VI, etc....
That's got me curious - those of you with VI's, how do you like them as far as daily driving?
Do you notice with your butt dyno 2000 a loss in low-end torque? Do you not think it helps enough in high end?
Do you love it?

Mine is still in the process of being put on, (driveway waiting for sunny weather to make me happy) but I do plan on getting a JWT-ECU to makeup for that possible loss of low end, if there is actually any

Check my homepage for the proof that their is a loss in HP and torque in the midrange.
Driving around town with the MEVI and no ECU felt pretty good. Overall, the VQ just lacked the snappiness it had in acceleration. Seeing that most driving is done in the lower rpms, the MEVI can actually take away some of the fun. Not until you wind out the VQ do you feel the difference and overall, the MEVI is deterimental to performance below 60-70mph. Now when you add the ECU EVERYTHING changes.....for the better. The VQ feels powerful everywhere.
I was naughty last night. On the way home from softball, an older 87-88 Vette (L98 motor = 245hp, mid 14 second car) pulled up beside me. I knew he wanted to go by the way he caught up with me and the quick rev of his aftermarket exhaust when he rolled up. The light goes green and we both leave at a moderate pace and then he hits it and so do I. He doesn't gain at all and at 40mph I start to slowly pull away. I get to the 6500rpms in 2nd and shutdown with a 1+ car lead. My wife looks over at me and says, "what are you doing?". I reply, "bye bye Vette" as he does the fly by. She laughs and says, "you just ran a Vette? Holy crap, I didn't even see him. Now you've got this car computer and you think you can beat everybody."

I still don't find the "below 60" theory as sound....
What about at 30-40, and 50-70 - The end of 1st and 2nd in an Auto, for example?
I certainly felt it before I was boosted. All the time gained from the low-end supposed loss isn't just made up from 70-90 in the 1/4 mile, I'm sure.
Just throwing things out there. Like I said, it's not that I disagree with you, it's just that I think there's still a good power add at the end of 1st and 2nd as well as 3rd or 4th.
I won't speak about 5spds only because I don't have one and can't attest from experience.
And to answer the previous question - I loved mine from the first time I ever drove it. I didn't notice with my butt dyno any tq loss.....
And looking at your Dyno, the loss looks fairly small. I thought you were talking about a bigger loss than that this whole time.
