Got ticket for squeeling tires????

I just need to vent mostly. First, tonight I got a ticket for Reckless Driving because I squeeled my tires after a turn. . This is what happened, I was turning right after a stop light and I was in 1st gear, than I forgot to shift to 2nd gear on my turn so after I turned onto the road, my rpm was at like 4-5k and I shifted to 2nd and than thats when I accidentally squeeled my tires and he pulled me over just after that. I was not drinking, racing etc.. I've only had the car for about 2 in a half months and I dont drive too often because I'm a college student and I usually just take around the bus etc.. This is my first manual trans car. The cop told me straight up he didn't believe a word about my car being bought just recently and claimed I knew how to drive a manual car. But the torque on the Max still takes some getting used to in lower gears. Oh well I plan to fight this in court. Thanks for listening.

I believe its called exhibition of acceleration. If gotten one before. If they gave you wreckless driving that sucks. Thats a worse ticket to have on your record.

It sucks that they gave you reckless driving. . . Normally it is a Exibition of Speed, at least in CA. Good luck in fighting it. . . Hopefully it can be reduced to smaller punishment. I know I got a reckless driving when I was 17 and it stayed on my record for 5 years.

I hope the cop doesn't enter that in as evidence!

I wouldn't be so sure......they might not be an "official documented quota" but I'll bet pretty significant part of PD financing comes from tickets.

Plus once in a while I see stories about some sh_thole town in the middle of nowhere that has most of it revenues come from trafic tickets.

You can also be charged with improper use of a motor vehicle. Here is the best defense strategy (though it IS a lie):

Get an old, worn clutch pedal pad and take it into court. Say that your foot slipped off of the clutch while making the shift. THe high RPMs and lower geat caused a chirping. You have now "fixed" it. Can you plead down to operation of a motor vehicle with faulty equipment?

Got an unsafe start ticket, while driving my old Mustang. There was a ton of smoke behind the car. I guess I should have let go of the brake before stomping on the gas. Didn't realize how much power the car had.

Unfortunately, I have too much experience working with these situations. My father is a lawyer so when people I went to school with woudl do something silly they would ask me how to get out of it. I have also been a paralegal for 3 years, 2 of those giving free legal advice at west virginia university to the students there who had gotten into trouble.

I als drove like a madman for years, which gave me ample time to think of potential excuses for all sorts of transgressions.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I know by my name it sounds like I race etc.. but in reality I i've never been to a track yet and Street racing is just plain stupid. (Dangerous, watching out for cops etc, my previous car was a Auto V6 Stang, too slow to even think about racing it ) . Thanks for the advice phenryiv1, but I'm just going to try to tell the truth and hopefully it will work out.

I was once ticketed for an "Unsafe Start" for squeeling my tires while pulling out of a gas station....and get this---it had just started raining and the road was slippery!!!

Most retarded ticket I ever got...I paid the fine and left it at that
