problem with midpipe and only being able to do 30 mph
well today i got a midpipe with hoses, i already had a k&N filter. i had a problem after i put it on. there was a extremely loud hissing noise. and i couldn't go past 30 mph. it felt as if the pedal was stuck.... so i went ahead and put everthing back to stock. anyone know a solution.

The pedal was probably stuck because the lever in the engine bay was hitting the bolt holding the midpipe to the TB. Move the clamp in such a way that teh screw that you use to tighten it is on top and not on the side.

Loud hissing noise is typical of an exposed filter element.
With regards to not being able to drive past 30mph, if it felt like you couldn't depress your pedal all the way to the floor like there's a stopper blocking your way then I'm going to suggest that the "body" (whatever you call that) of hose clamp that tightens the coupler over the throttle body was in the way.

Yup...must be something hitting the throttle cable.
A guy once doing my oil change at the fast lube place took off my piping to take a look at my throttle body (I never asked him to).
ANyway, when putting it back on, he screwed the clamp on backwards (not putting the nub on the right way) thus the clamp blocked the throttle thingy from moving and kept me at under 10 kms an hour. I pulled out and coasted to the light to make a right turn.
Almost got nailed so I craped my pants and went back to get it fixed.
I never gave the guy crap though...he was kinda nice ...just dense.

one thing i am wondering is that when i put the midpipe on, the hissing was way louder than with just my k&n cone filter. my friend who has a mid pipe and mosterflow filter on a 98 max isnt even as loud.
