rwd twin turbo maxima?
rwd twin turbo maxima?
rear wheel drive maxima. has anybody done it and if so what about twin turbo. i have a little project in the making but im not gonna release full details just yet. i just wanted to get some feedback on these. oh one more. vh45de maxima is that possible. thats a q45 engine. just tell me what you think.
Anything is possible, i've seen a civic with a skyline engine. Just takes cash and a good mechanic. If your talking about do it yourself...No its official impossible unless you own a garage and mechine shop. Not to meantion that engine (q45 is pretty big) i dunno if it'll even fit in the engine bay.

i dont think a q45 engine would fit, and rear wheel drive would be a lot of work and the difference wont be worth the money *in my opinion* and as far as twin turbos, im sure with money it is definatly possible, but i dont know what you would need to do to pass emissions

thanks DTR Maxima and your right i havent said what my project is i was just asking for some feedback. oh and no i would never try to do anythign like this myself. my project is being done by a man who does most of the nissan hybrids in atl. he is telling me what he can do and how much it would cost me. he is sponsoring the labor on my car but i have to go to alot of shows with his name on my car. its still not gonna be cheap even because im gonna have to buy the engine and parts, maybe even a whole q45. if anybody can do it, it would be this guy he put a rb26dett in a 240sx and made it all wheel drive. he is also putting a vh45de in a 240sx.
oh and sprintmax what do you want me to do?

oh and sprintmax what do you want me to do?
240 sx is RWD.. mounting a RWD engine in a RWD car is simple..
to custom fabricate a RWD engine in a car and then make the car RWD.. you will have to basically get a J30 and put a maxima body on top of it..
doing that to a 240 is not easy and would not be easy to do it to a maxima. the feedback has been great up to this point but i would still like to konw if there are any rwd maximas out there or at least maybe a 95-99 with a 3.5 in it or something. its hard to believe that nobody has done an engine swap on a maxima. this will be my four hybrid my first was a sohc vtec in my 89 hatchback and then a but a nonvtec b18 in my 88 crx my last hybrid was a ca18det in my 90 240sx coupe. the ca18det is like a 4cyl skyline engine.you know just like ht 4.3 vortec is a 6cly 350. but anyway im just trying to get ideas comments and info on the maxima. i have had my maxima for some time but never thought of doing anythign to make it a speed car. i always like having tv'sand air cyl on my car. and the air cyl are for sell if anybody wants them.
well thanks and keep it coming
vh45dett maxima soon to come

the only reason you havn't gotten negative feedback yet is because everyone is sick of answring these questions..
its even in the FAQ.. so if you could.. do this.. provide pics and information.. that way we can put a picture of your car and your information in the FAQ's so we can stop answering this question

While I am sure there is some creative intelligence happening here, I was wondering why the flock would you bother.
Converting a Maxima to rear wheel would have already been done if :
1) It was a viable possibility
2) Worht the time and effort
3) If you are trying to be an innovator my hat is off to you for thinking outside the box.
I sure hate to be critical but it might be helpful to do some research prior to posting this B.S.
I may as well put a HEMI in a flocking YUGO.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD:
1) There are no RWD Maximas. There never will be.
2) There are no twin-turbo Maximas. There never will be.
3) There are no "rear-wheel drive conversions". That's not a conversion, that's called making a new vehicle from scratch.
There is always "some guy" "somewhere" that has done everything above. But it's ALWAYS
Remember the Ford Shogun? The little Fiesta with a SHO engine stuffed in the trunk? That was cool. And probably cost Ford 1-2 million dollars of cooless....

couple of years ago i read in a magazine about a company that mde stretch limo's out of Ferrari and Porsche's, if you can turn a 911 turbo into a stretch limo, i'm sure you can make a RWD or even a AWD Maxima with a RB26DETT, you might have to be a bit of a bill gates type to do it though.
