Transmission Failing???

K guys, I need help again. I should actually read up on some of this online but I'm being a lazy biatch heh.

Everytime I come to a stoplight and gas it to go on a green the car kinda jolts forward when it hits 2nd gear (my car's an automatic, so I dunno if I'm using the right terminology). After 3rd gear (again) it's smooth but, coming from 1st in to 2nd is really rough.

I know something's wrong with the car... it's startin to crap out on me. Tell me what I should do?

Oh yeah I read the few opinions that were posted on the O2 sensor post in regards to my gas mileage going down. Thanks again.... but I am having trouble with starting up now. When I turn the key to start the car it has to turn over a few times first. It happens more frequently when my tank is about to run out of gas (before the light turns on though).

Thanks in advance for the input.

have you changed your fuel filter lately? Also, make sure you have enough ATF fluid, or get it drained and refilled... might try that before seeing if it is your transmission, but mine was doing that kinda thing, and I'm probably having it rebuilt now...

Re: Transmission Failing???

If you have more then 100K on the car, changing the fluid might cause more harm then good but I don't see another option because it is the issue.. If that does not work.. In the for sale forum a guy is selling an auto tranny for $500 that has 25K.. You can't beat that deal.. to get any work done on your tranny will cost that..

OK, thanks for the advice.

FYI, my car has over 80K miles on it right now. It's definately getting close to 100K...

I'll ask the bf if I should get the tranny that dude's sellin.
