Slight Backfire when Car is Cold?
Slight Backfire when Car is Cold?
I know the car runs rich when first started, but i get one or two little pops from the exhaust every morning. It happens when i shift from 1st to 2nd at about 3k rpm. As the rpm drops i get a pop sometimes. It only happens in the first minute of driving or so. Is this something i should be worried about? I have a pretty wide open exhaust, so i dont think it is too abnormal. I just wanted to check.

Your wide open exhaust is abnormal as far as your ECU is concerned and the way your car was designed to run.

that the ECU is not used to an open exhaust and that the pop is not too unusual for such a big change to the car?
