i have a 95 maxima gxe. i just replaced the starter. upon putting everything back in place. i accidently grounded the battery. starting up the car i get a check engine light on. the car runs fine except at 1500-2000 RPM. is seems to stumble a little. other than that the car runs fine. i took it all apart again and checked all my connections and everything looks fine. ANY IDEAS???

I also had a check engine light problem on my 1996 maxima GXE. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the vent control valve and now the car is running perfect. Before that the car was sluggish and at one point would not start. But after they replaced the vent control valve the car is back to its old self. I thought it might be a O2 sensor but it wasn't. The dealer said that sometimes when the vent control valve goes out it could cause your car not to allow you to put gas in it. so have your car checked by a reputable shop or dealer.
