Transmission oil for 96 5-speed

What kind of oil are you using in your 5-speed Maxima? Dealer? Redline? Any feedback will be appreciated!

Hello again

Yeah it's ok for our winters...

I live in montreal and use Redline MT-90...

even then you could probably get Amsoil for your trans.... I bought some as backup just in case. You can get the amsoil on the shore.

The redline I had ordered from the website...

The amsoil I bought was Series 2000 100% synthetic 75W-90 Gear Lube.

I can let you know where... once i find a receipt from the place... hehe

The Redline I think took about a week before it got to me... not too bad

Amsoil Series 2000 gear oil may be purchased from member iwannabmw. PM him for pricing information. He gives discounts off Amsoil retail prices to .org members.

Most likey, it is a better overall gear oil than the Redline MT-90. However, that is splitting some hairs pretty finely. Either will serve you well.

Salut! I live in Toronto and ended up using Redline's MTL. I wasn't able to get my hands on any MT-90. The shifts were so smooth through the cold winter months with -30 windchill. If your changing the M/T oil yourself, it's not too hard. Here are pics/description on how I did it.
