9004 HID Install - high beam indicator issue

Okay here is the basic setup of my HID kit (8000K K2 HID kit - Hella ballast + Japanese bulb, packaged by Phillips). There are 2 separate wires that run into the bulb and there are 2 wires (bundled together) that run into the power supply in the car. I have a polarity adjuster, in case I need to reverse the red/black wires (that are bundled together). I am ASSUMING that these two wires are the high beam and low beam wires. Does anyone know which one is hi and which one is low between the red and the black? That way I can disconnect that wire in the polarity adjuster and connect it in-line with the wires going into the harness and disable the high beams that way. This would mean that my lights turn off when I switch my stalk to high beams.

Hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks.

if you have only two wires on your HID bulb then one is positive and one is negative. the wires that come from the car should be black (ground), blue (positive), green (positive). One of the green and blue is going to be your High the other one is low. Don't use the High beam wire, only use the low beam. Hook up the HID system to only one of the color wires then turn on your lights on low beam. If it turns on then just use that one wire. if it doesn't then you have it hooked up to the Highbeam. I believe I have the same setup as you. Hella ballast with japannese bulb. I had the same issue the first day, but is all fixed now. no more High beam indicator for me. sorry about the spelling I don't feel like going back and read all this crap I wrote

Yep that makes sense... but how do I disconnect just the green or just the blue wire without actually cutting it? Also, the connection for those wires from the HID ballast are also secure. Cutting would be the only way to NOT connect one of those wires. Is there a way that I don't know of?

well ya cutting your stock wires will do the job. I did cut mine becasue my sockets were melted anyway. So now I don't have a 9004 socket. The wires are just connected to the HID system.

Is there any other way of doing this that does not involve any cutting.
