I have looked at it myself. Does anyone have it on a 97+? Does it cause a CEL? That is my concern. Does anyone have any experience with the non-resonated type?

You might get 2hp from a test pipe. In my opinion it's pointless. This is coming from someone who has one.

I really don't think the gains are good enough to offset the potential fine of running without a cat. I believe they were somewhere over a thousand dollars, probably depending on the state. I guess the chances of having a cop actually check under your car are nearly zero though, but keep you cat for the environment.... unless your boosted

depends on what else you have on your exhaust... ypipe.. bpipe... ect. with just a ypipe you shouldn't notice a diff. in sound. but with a Bpipe and muffler it might get a bit louder. and MPG will also get better w/o a cat.

i HAD it on my 97 SE. I had the one with resonator. It doesnt bring up a CEL light because the 02 sensor does not plug into it nor does it plug into your resonator, it plugs into your y-pipe and your b-pipe.

As far as sound, its a very quiet piece to add on if u get the resonated one, BUT if you have bees in a can sound now, when you put this on, it will only get worst because it will allow free flow of exhaust and that just causes for faster movement and more unnecessary noise.

i also felt a gain as well and i am not boosted, its just like a more smoother ride...at low rpm's when shifting when u not really supposed to, instead of jumping and boggling it just stays smooth and picks up speed as u approach the higher rpm's.

Did anyone notice after revving their cars into high rpm that you start to backfire. Is this due to the straight pipe it freaked me out when my friend was revving my car and all of a sudden I see this bright light coming out the exhaust. Can anyone explain this and if so how harmful is it.

I was told that when I drive hard at times you can see fir ecome out from the exhaust too at times. I was told that this is because gas is being released into the exhaust and then gets burned up on its way out. Can anyone tell me how harmful this is.
