y-pipe flex section?

Just wanted to know if anyone has had problems with flex pipe tearing open(very loud)? Is there an easy fix or do I have to replace? Cattman won't respond to me because I want to know if it is warrantied
or any help he could be. Thanks for any comments or help.

Maybe three years? It is from scrapping on the ground.

i don't see how the flex section can be repaired

chances are you need to get it replaced. it really should be covered under warranty especially since the cattman pipe is so damn expensive...

What do you mean scrapping on the ground? Did you hit something? Hell, if my soon to be Budget Y-pipe rips after 3 years than maybe I should reconsider buying one.

My car sits maybe an inch off the ground and I live on a gravel road with a seriously rough railrod track. What can I say I live in NEBRASKA.

Ask Cattman if he'll repair the pipe for like $80-$100. (as he did for in warranty flex sections that failed/constricted)

Otherwise I think Warpspeed replaces flexes too.

That's why I went w/Budget.
$160 to buy
$160 to replace, if needed.

Don't know how good they are, but I remember seeing flex sections for sale in a JC Whitney catalog.

I would buy some exhaust wrap from Autozone or Pepboys and wrap the pipe for a temporary fix. Then call Cattman or Warpspeed and see if they will fix the flex section. Otherwise, call Budget.

Go to www.budgetexhaust.com. They have Y-pipes for $160 shipped. On the site it says $250 but the price is in Canadian $. Also, you can't order online you have to call and order the pipe. They call it an F-Pipe but, it is the same thing as a Y-pipe.
Good Luck!

Just to clear up onething is the y pipe was not scrapping it was my exhaust. one of my brackets fell off and the constant back and forth vaused the flex to over flex and rip open. It is going to cost me 125 to replace flex Does any one think this is going to affect the y pipe. Or should I just buy the budget. ??

I would just go with the budget 'cause once you start repairing the flex section etc. your only asking for more trouble. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Yeah you could just go with a new budget pipe for $160. But if you already paided like $350 for the Cattman thats kinda a waste. You could get a flex section from warpspeed, they sell flex sections that can be installed on any Y-pipe. You need to have the old one cut out and the new warpspeed one welded in. You could look into that also...
