quick y-pipe fitment question

a y-pipe for a 99 fed spec will fit a 98 maxima right? Don't know why, but i remembered something about them being different.

if its a 99 fed spec it will fit. the different y-pipe is for the cali-spec 99 max. on the cali-spec, you can't remove all the precats. thats why it needs a different y-pipe
