Check Engine Light - problem gone?

My car has a problem where if I start it and shut it off right away, it won't restart. When it happened the other day, I got it back started (just had to give it a lot of gas) and it gave me a check engine light.

I read the code 0503 which is the front right oxygen sensor. I resetting the check engine light but never replaced the oxygen sensor. I drove it around for a while and the light didn't come back on. Does this mean that I don't have to replace the sensor? Could it of been just a fluke that caused my engine light to come on becuase I probably gave it too much gas when I tried to start it up? I had the oxygen sensors replaced a few times already. Thanks in advance.

If I do have to replace the sensor, is it easy to do it myself? I have the haynes manual and the directions weren't that clear.

The code will prob come back and yes it is pretty easy to replace the sensor yourself especially since it isnt the original anyway so it shoudnt be to hard to get off.
