What about a rear sway bar? Does that affect the Maxima in a bad way? Also, will the y-pipe kill my stock cat after a while?

I don't know about you all, but I for one wish I hadn't modded my car as much as I did. Cosmetic mods are cool, and I also like my RSB and intake, but I wish I hadn't lowered my car or done the exhaust.
Exhaust stuff is cool at first, but I found it to be quite annoying after about a year and a half. It draws unwanted attention and often makes for a very noisey ride. And Random cats usually conk out on you eventually. Mine lasted all of 3 months.
My Eibachs make my car look sweet, but if you live around bad roads the ride sucks. Long term, they kill your car. The Max is not designed to absorb that much impact. Rattles, squeeks, clanks - you name it. Almost all the problems I've had with my car have been caused by mods. I guess it's my own fault for not doing enough research before modding. I suppose needed to get it out of my system.
My next car will have a K&N drop-in, tint, clear corners, and a strut bar and that's it. I don't even think wheels are worth the money, because lets face it, GOOD wheels are several grand, and I'd rather put that money towards the down payment. In a perfect world, I could have a show car AND a daily driver..........but I'm not sinking another dime in to this vehicle!

I feel what your sayin an 100%, I have an 99 Infiniti I30, I thought about puttin an cool air intake on it but keep the Exhaust stock, but after reading what you said, everything you said was the truth. I had an 94 Nissan Sentra with an cool air intake and 2.5" Exhaust and I thought it sounded dog out because the car was old. Exhaust work dose mess up your car. The motor is not designed to take in all that air and spit it out so fast, yea it makes the car somewhat faster, but thats a lot of ware on the motor. The motor needs back pressure and stock exhaust gives it the back pressure its need

You just nailed your whole problem in one sentence. If you had read reviews and found out people's opinions on products, you wouldn't have to worry about half of the things that bother you now.
Exhaust: You don't need a loud exhaust. You could get a y-pipe and a b-pipe and put a 5th gen muffler on it. It still looks good, gives you performance, and isn't that loud.
Suspension: Anyone who lowers their car realizes it will not handle the same way. If it bothers you that much, change it back to stock.
